Nicaragua is an outdoor enthusiasts dream. With an obscenely consistent temperature range and weather pattern not only is the wind almost always offshore, the waves are almost always pumping. Most of our guests prefer to enjoy the amenities, waves, fishing and golf around the resort; however, for those who want to explore what Nicaragua has to offer there is a multitude of additional activities for the adventure seeker!

Here is a quick list of the available activities in our area, we are happy to help coordinate any of these items for your group via our event coordinator on the ground in Nicaragua - they will be there to meet the group upon arrival:

2. Our Private Golf Course - only steps away - enjoy a few beers and hit the course!
3. Deep Sea Fishing
4. Local Hot Springs at Las Salinas.
5. Visit historic sites in Grenada
6. Canopy Tours

SURFING:

Nicaragua is blessed with an abundance of good waves, offshore winds, and sunny weather almost all year-round. Mark and Dave’s Place is situated in front of the best waves the country has to offer with a climate that averages around 80 degrees and water temps that hover between 75 - 85 degrees. The surf rarely drops below 2 feet at any time during the year and bigger swell events are likely - up to 8 feet - between April - October. Instead of searching for waves via boat or on a sketchy 4 wheel drive mission our Mark and Dave’s is located ocean front on the most fertile surfing beaches in all of Nicaragua… no boat or car required and no reason to go anywhere else! With the wind almost always offshore due to the Lago Nicaragua effect be prepared for a good mix of barrels, beach breaks, reefs, and points during your visit.

The premiere break is called Colorado’s. Colorado’s is arguably one of the best beach breaks in Nicaragua, if not Central America. Any hint of south swell gets funneled into A-Frame peaks groomed to perfection by the constant offshore wind. For most surfers visiting Nicaragua, Colorado’s is only accessible by a lengthy boat ride requiring you to wake up at 5:00am, head to the dock, load up, and head for the break. We are directly located in front of Ponga Drops - which can turn on like a world class wave - a mix between Wind and Sea and Sunset beach - a fun a progressive wave for all skill levels. Sit back in the pool and watch your friends get some good waves!

At Mark and Dave’s you will be able to wake up, enjoy a fresh cup of coffee, rub the sleep from your eyes, and simply look down the beach to get the latest surf report.

GOLF:

We are located within a two minute walk from one of Nicaragua’s premier Golf Courses. It’s a great activity after a long surf session. A beautiful course with breathtaking tee’s like #5 witch is perched high on the top of a hill overlooking the entire beach. With its small, tiered greens it’s definitely worth a few rounds during your visit! Feel free to bring your own clubs or rent a set from the pro shop.

Members and Mark and Dave’s Guests:
$ 10.00 Playing Fee - Pull Cart included (mention that your staying at Mark and Dave’s for the membership pricing)
$ 25.00 w/ Golf Cart
$ 15.00 Golf Club rental

From the Blue tees the course measures 3374 yards and encompasses the following holes:

1. 394 yard Par 4: Dogleg right that plays right into the prevailing wind.
2. 195 yard Par 3: Cross wind, lengthy par 3 to a tiny green.
3. 400 yard Par 4: Downwind beauty with trees on the left and water next to the green.
4. 371 yard Par 4: Slight dogleg left that plays to a 3 tiered elevated green cut out of the side of the mountain. Best hole on the course.
5. 500 yard Par 5: Perched high on top of a hill overlooking the entire bay this downwind Par 5 is easily reachable in two.
6. 150 yard Par 3: Standard hole down wind, don’t go long!
7. 394 yard Par 4: Tough test, plays straight into the wind, exceedingly long, but with a generous fairway.
8. 565 yard Par 5: Downwind par 5, a very pretty hole bordered by water on the left and a small green.
9. 405 yard Par 4: This hole criss- crosses the 8th fairway, dogleg left surrounded by water around the green.
