Mark and Dave's Place :::: The House ::: Luxury Surf Resort

Mark and Dave's Place is accentuated by a private and cozy atmosphere and is located on Iguana Beach in the heart of the Nicaraguan Riviera. During your stay, home will be in one of four private cabanas, each one clean, simple, and built by a team of Nicaraguan craftsmen in the traditional style. The house sits on two acres of immaculate beach front property and offers three incredible waves, two swimming pools, and exclusive access to one of Nicaragua's best golf courses only a few steps away.

Each room provides adequate sleeping and bathing areas accentuated by two single beds that deliver a sense of warmth and identity. All rooms are highlighted by a tv/dvd and combination of air conditioning with fans.

Each room has its own bathroom with standard features that include a sink, toilet, mirror, shower, and is completely tiled. Bath, hand, and face towels are also available.

Each room also has a small closet and drawers to store clothes and belongings inside.

We do not offer phone connections but we encourage our guests to bring down their cell phones with international coverage and computers equipped with Skype to make free or very inexpensive phone calls through our wireless internet connection.

The house's greatest asset is our massive lounge area. This area is where you will find yourself 95% of the time, checking out the waves, watching tv, listening to music, swinging in the hammock or chilling out on the couch. All of your meals are eaten in the open air, the definition of a core surf trip!

We work hard to give you the best experience possible. There really isn't a strict code of conduct at the house, but here are a few helpful tips for adjusting to life in paradise. The following list offers a quick glance at the do's and don'ts of life at Mark and Dave's Place:

1. Feel free to ask our staff any questions at anytime or for anything you need.
2. Please smoke in designated areas only – outside only.
3. Do your best to keep wet clothes outside.
4. Point out problems or potential problems to the staff.
5. No drugs allowed.
6. Keep your belongings in designated areas.
7. Always use proper surf etiquette.
8. Conserve as much water as possible.
9. Always look out for other people.
10. Put trash where it belongs.
11. Housecleaning is everyday between 10:00am and 2:00pm, unless you request otherwise.
12. If your towels are dirty, please leave them on the floor of the bathroom and we will give you fresh ones.
13. Please use sunscreen, nothing can ruin your vacation more than a sunburn.
14. Please share waves with the guests from the charter boats.
15. We suggest covering up in evenings, long pants and long sleeves and applying mosquito repellant before dusk.
16. Always excercise caution when you are by yourself.
17. If you'd like to plan an activity, surf another beach, or need something for your room simply ask your "host" looking after you.

2. What are the waves like?
Most of our guests prefer to stay at the house and surf the waves on our beach exclusively, find out why we are in the best location possible by visiting our "Waves" section.

3. What health precautions should I take? Please consult your doctor before any international excursion. In general you will need to update your tetanus shot and hepatitis series shots as well. Remember to bring any prescription medication with you.

4. How much does it cost to rent Mark and Dave's Place for the week? We have a flat rate of $4200/week and are capable of handling up to 8 people, double the capacity of most rentals while delivering a vacation atmosphere instead of a stuffy house. More information here.

5. Can I check my e-mails and get online? Yes! Wireless Internet is available at the Hacienda Iguana offices - bring your laptop and plug in - electrical outlets are the same as the United States.

6. How much money do I need to take? If you decide to make your trip a'la carte we recommend $300 - $400 to be on the safe side... you can always take what you don't use home! Please contact us for additional options.
